The Pandemic Practices Working Group (PPWG), an initiative of The Commission to Reimagine the Future of New York’s Courts, released its latest report on how the courts can better serve New Yorkers in the event of a crisis like COVID-19. Composed of judges, court administrators, attorneys like Edward Steinberg, and other distinguished legal personnel, PPWG has pioneered thorough research into the court system’s response to the pandemic and its resulting procedures. In its latest report, the group proposed key strategies for improved virtual proceedings and technological capacity in the courts to ensure that all citizens have access to justice despite pandemics or other disasters. Case Resolved: Justice for the Wrongful Death of a Brooklyn Woman – Leav & Steinberg, LLP – July, 2022

The Adult Survivors Act has officially been signed into law by Governor Hochul. – Leav & Steinberg, LLP – June, 2022
As New York’s latest legislative effort to protect sexual assault victims, the Adult Survivors Act (S.66/A.648) has officially been signed into law by Governor Hochul. This new law creates a one-year window for the revival of time-barred civil lawsuits based on sex crimes committed against victims 18 years of age or older when the crime occurred. Amazon facing lawsuit for Rockaway crash – Queens Daily Eagle – December 7, 2021
A Queens woman has filed a lawsuit against Amazon because they are refusing to accept accountability after she was rear-ended by one of their delivery drivers in the fall of 2021. When Partner Edward Steinberg was asked about the lawsuit, he said, “Amazon’s actions are nothing short of outrageous. By refusing to provide an insurance claim, this multi-billion dollar company has cost the family thousands of dollars in expenses.” Read More
