Family of Teen Shooting Victim Sues Ghost Gun Manufacturer Polymer80, Inc. with Leav & Steinberg, LLP’s Wrongful Death Lawyers in New York

New York, NY – The family of the late 16-year-old Bronx teen, Angellyh Marie Yambo, filed a civil lawsuit in the Bronx against Polymer80, Inc., the ghost gun manufacturer and dealer who equipped a 17-year-old shooter with an untraceable firearm.

On April 8, 2022, Angellyh Marie Yambo was fatally shot by gunman Jeremiah Ryan as she was walking home from school.

The lawsuit alleges that this loss of life was made possible because Polymer80, Inc., through their network of dealers and online sellers, flooded New York City streets with unserialized and untraceable gun kits that could easily be assembled into functional handguns without background checks.

The lawsuit was filed in the New York State Supreme Court in Bronx County, New York. The causes of action in the complaint include negligence and violations of New York General Business Law 898-e.

This is believed to be the first instance in New York State history where a family has brought forward wrongful death allegations against a manufacturer of untraceable firearms.

The survivors and the Estate of Angellyh Marie Yambo are represented by Leav & Steinberg, LLP’s Founding Partner Edward A. Steinberg and Anthony M. Beneduce, a wrongful death lawyer in New York.

Attorneys for the family issued the following statement:

“The family of Angellyh Marie Yambo deserves justice. No child should lose their life to senseless gun violence. The ghost gun industry continues to place profit over public safety and the lives of our children. This lawsuit will hold them accountable for putting these dangerous and untraceable weapons on the streets.”
